2022 ABMA Innovation Award Nominations Deadline

The American Brush Manufacturers Association (ABMA) is now accepting nominations for the William A. Cordes Innovation Excellence Award.

Entries for the award will be accepted until November 30, 2021, and the award presentation will be made at the ABMA Annual Convention in March 2022 at the Hyatt Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Fla.

Wooster Brush Claims Innovation Award

The Wooster Brush Company Shortcut Hook and Hold Angle Sash Paintbrush is the 2021 winner of the ABMA William A. Cordes Innovation Excellence Award. The “Willie” as it is known in the industry, is given to recognize outstanding innovation of manufactured products, components or services in the Brush, Broom, Mop and Roller Industry. The award is named after William Cordes, who served as the association’s first president from 1917-1928.

Wooster Brush Names New President

The Wooster Brush Company’s board of directors has elected Ben Maibach to succeed Bill Fagert as the company’s 10th president, effective May 1, 2020. At the same time, Bill Fagert, president since 2010, will become vice chairman of the board of directors.

Since joining Wooster Brush in 2014, Maibach has served as vice president of national accounts, held a seat on the company’s board of directors, and most recently led the team overseeing Wooster’s rebranding efforts. Maibach brings over 20 years of sales and marketing experience to his new role including time as vice president of sales at Waxman Consumer Group as well as multiple sales and marketing roles while at Moen and Newell Rubbermaid.
