Beth Spencer Promoted at Nexstep Commercial Products

Nexstep Commercial Products, Exclusive Licensee of O-Cedar, has announced the promotion of Beth Spencer to the position of Human Resources/Accounts Receivable. Spencer joined Nexstep in 2020 as an accounts receivable associate. In addition to her accounts receivable responsibilities, she will now provide support and facilitate the company’s human resource functions and processes in Springfield, Ohio.

Spencer recently graduated from Western Governors University with her Bachelors of Science in Business Management.

US Manufacturers See 2.4 Percent PMI Decline for December

ISM® has reported December Manufacturing PMI® of 58.7 percent for US manufacturers, a decrease of 2.4 percentage points from the November reading of 61.1 percent. This figure indicates expansion in the overall economy for the 19th month in a row after a contraction in April 2020.

Hillbrush Invests in Solar for the Future

Hillbrush, the UK’s largest and long-established manufacturer of brushes and specialist cleaning tools has extended its investment in solar power as part of the company’s commitment to making its UK production site far more energy-efficient and significantly reducing its carbon footprint.

Based at Mere, Wiltshire, UK, Hillbrush’s production site operates six days a week, with multiple shifts, while the company’s visitor center at Visit Hillbrush is open five days a week, together consuming more than 1,276 MWh of electricity per annum. Hillbrush has recently invested to extend the solar panelling system comprising a total of 510 panels across all buildings including the roof space on Visit Hillbrush. The solar investment will enable Hillbrush to make significant reductions in energy consumption as well as cost savings over time.

NAM: Build Back Better Act Puts Tax Target on Manufacturers

The ‘book tax’ in particular harms manufacturers more than others because it increases the cost of machinery and equipment purchases, which are central to manufacturers’ operations and our ability to create and support American jobs.
